Unwrapped is free to use and does not require an account. We do not sell personal information or use advertising trackers. This page explains the limited information used to run and improve the site.
Information used by the site
Your saved video IDs and filter choices are stored in your browser. When the page needs results, your search, selected filters, and requested saved-video IDs are sent to the unwrapped.tv API. Searches are used to return results and are not included in analytics events.
Cloudflare provides hosting, caching, security, and network analytics. It processes ordinary request information such as IP addresses and browser details. Supabase hosts the catalog API and database and processes API requests forwarded by Cloudflare.
Cookieless analytics
We use PostHog to count page views, feed loads, errors, and clicks through to YouTube. Click events may include the discovery mode, list position, reason label, and the relevant video and channel IDs. They do not include your search text.
PostHog runs in cookieless mode. It does not create a person profile or use cookies, local storage, session storage, session recordings, heatmaps, or automatic click capture. PostHog temporarily processes an IP address and user agent to create a privacy-preserving identifier that changes daily. Analytics do not load when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
Cookies and browser storage
Unwrapped does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Cloudflare may use cookies that are strictly necessary for security. The browser storage used for saved videos and filter choices stays on your device and can be removed by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Service providers and retention
We use Cloudflare, Supabase, and PostHog to operate the site. They may process information in countries outside your own under their privacy terms. Information is retained only while needed to operate, secure, and understand the service, using the retention controls and standard log periods provided by those services.
Your choices
You can enable Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control to prevent PostHog from loading. You may also ask about, object to, or request deletion of information associated with you. Because Unwrapped has no accounts and uses daily cookieless identifiers, we may not be able to connect analytics records to a particular visitor.
Links to YouTube
When you open a video or channel, you leave Unwrapped and use YouTube under Google's privacy policy. Unwrapped sends no referrer information to external sites.
